poetry and literature. Strong in community
support, Poetry Flash is an
important communication forum, generating
audience and interest in literary issues
and events. Poetry Flash publishes
book reviews, poems, interviews, essays,
and trade, submission, and award
information for all creative writers.
Poetry Flash features the most
comprehensive listing of literary events
in the West. The Calendar is an
indispensable guide to literary scenes in
California, and also offers Southwest,
Pacific Northwest, and selected national
event listings. Although poetry is the
primary editorial focus, The Calendar
covers creative writing of all genres.
Fiction reviews and interviews with
writers of fiction are often featured.
Poetry Flash has built community
through literature for over thirty
years.
Poetry Flash purposely prices
print ads to foster community and to
encourage individual and non-profit
participation. Your advertising dollars
also provides us with critical revenue to
fuel this essential literary resource.

Founded in 1972, Poetry Flash is a
501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. Donations
are tax deductible to the full extent
allowed by law. Poetry Flash reserves the
right to reject any advertising. Ads
should support our purpose to assist,
support and inform the public with regard
to the literary arts.

Printed and distributed: 21,000 to
22,000.
Available by subscription ($12 for four
issues) or free at selected bookstores,
cafes, colleges, libraries and literary
art centers throughout California, with
distribution at select locations in
Oregon, Washington, Arizona, New Mexico,
Nevada, Colorado, and New York City. Our
paid subscription base is national and
international.

The ad rate is $17.30 per column
inch.
One-column inch is 3-1/8" wide by 1"
tall.
A one-column wide ad (3-1/8" wide) or
two-column wide ad (6-1/2" wide) may be
any height up to 13-3/4".
Ads that are 5" wide must be either 7"
tall (vertical quarter-page) or 13-3/4"
tall (vertical half-page).
Mechanical
requirements
PDF documents only. Ad pdfs must be
actual print size with embedded fonts.
(Document size and ad size must be the
same.) Art must be grayscale, black and
white only. No color. Please label your ad
PDF with the name of the organization,
event, or publication featured in the
advertisement.
If you are unable to produce your ad in
PDF format, Poetry Flash will
design and create your ad for a nominal
fee.
Production charges: $10 (type-only
ads); $25 (ads that contain artwork:
logos, photos, book covers,
illustrations).

Payment

Advertisers are invoiced with a
tearsheet after publication. Invoices are
due upon receipt. Rates are
non-commissionable. No agency discounts
please. Payment for Web advertising is due
when the ad-link appears. Credit card
payments can be made via PayPal on
www.poetryflash.org by prior
arrangement.
