Poetry Flash: Literary Review & Calendar for the West features book reviews, features, interviews, essays, poems, and submissions/contest information for creative writers. Although poetry is the editorial focus, Poetry Flash reviews creative writing in all genres. Reviews of literary fiction and interviews with fiction writers are often featured. Poetry Flash is published online and in print with varied editorial content for each medium.

Circulation & Distribution

Printed and distributed: 21,000 to 22,000 (seasonal).

Available by subscription ($12 for four subsequent issues, extending beyond the calendar year); our paid subscription base is national and international.

Poetry Flash is distributed free at selected bookstores, cafés, colleges, libraries and literary art centers throughout California, with distribution at select locations in Oregon, Washington, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, and New York City. Distribution points include bookstores, literary centers, cafés, libraries, universities, colleges, and conferences.

Closing Dates & Schedule
Poetry Flash operates on a quarterly schedule and is currently publishing double issues twice a year. Closing dates are one month previous to publication. Our next scheduled print issue is fall 2011, with a closing date of September 6, 2011.

Poetry Flash is a compact newspaper printed offset on newsprint.

Trim size: 11.5 x 15 inches. Ad placement is random.

Smallest Ad Space Available:

A one-column wide ad (3.125" wide) or two-column wide ad (6.5" wide) may be any height up to 13.75" and will be billed at $17.30 per inch high.

Ads that are 5" wide must be either 7" tall (quarter-page vertical) or 13.75" tall (half-page vertical).

Mechanical Requirements for Print Advertising
Ad pdfs must be actual print size. (Document size and ad size must be the same.) Art must be grayscale, black and white only. Please label your ad pdf with the name of your ad or organization.

If you are unable to produce your ad in PDF format, Poetry Flash will design and create your ad for a nominal fee. Production charges: $10 (type-only ads); $25 (ads that contain artwork: logos, photos, book covers, illustrations).

Payment & Contact Info
Print advertisers are invoiced with a tearsheet after publication. Online ad invoices may be emailed with a link after posting.

Invoices are due upon receipt. Rates are non-commissionable. No agency discounts please. Credit card payments can be made via PayPal on www.poetryflash.org; please notify us by email that your payment was made on PayPal.
