"Clay with Your Food," San Francisco Design Week event, three Bay Area chefs compete in a food-meets-performance-art triathlon, preparing food in the kiln at 1,000 degrees, throwing their own serving dishes on the potter's wheel, and "plate food on sculpture" made by International Clayboy and Vesselist, Jered Nelson; a round of live, on-the-spot ekphrastic poetry about the chefs' cullinary and ceramic creations will be presented by guest poets El Cerrito Poet Laureate Maw Shein Win, MK Chavez, and Hugh Behm-Steinberg reading poems inspired by plated dishes created by Bay Area chefs and potters, Jered's Pottery, 867 S. 19th Street, Richmond, $100 includes food and wine, 4:00-7:00 (2017.sfdesignweek.org/events/clay-with-your-food)
