Lift Every Voice: Why African American Poetry Matters with Kevin Young

The Library Foundation of Los Angeles presents a poetry reading as part of Lift Every Voice: Why African American Poetry Matters, in celebration of the release of the poetry anthology African American Poetry: 250 Years of Struggle and Song by Kevin Young, poetry editor and director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, this event will include special readings of poems featured in the anthology and examine questions of race, identity, and the power of African American voices in poetry, free, $50 to purchase the book with ticket, online, 5:00 pm PST (Register to attend: lfla.org/event/lift-every-voice-why-african-american-poetry-matters)
