The Center for Southeast Asia Studies at UC Berkeley presents a reading and conversation on Burmese poetry, featuring poet Ko Ko Thett, reading from his new collection Bamboophobia, and poets Kenneth Wong, Mae Yway, and Maw Shein Win, Storage Unit for the Spirit House, all four poets will read from the new anthology Picking off new shoots will not stop the spring: Witness poems and essays from Burma/Myanmar (1988-2021), readings will be in English and Burmese, introduced by Penny Edwards, Associate Professor of South and Southeast Asian Studies at UC Berkeley, online via Zoom, free, 11:00 am-12:15 pm PDT (Register to attend: events.berkeley.edu/index.php/calendar/sn/ieas.html?event_ID=145130&date=2022-04-27&filter=Secondary%20Event%20Type&filtersel=)
