San Diego Poetry Annual, along with San Diego Writers Festival and Library Foundation San Diego, presents the Kowit Awards, a celebration of San Diego's poetry community and remembrance of the late seminal poet Steve Kowit, with an evening of readings by California Poet Laureate Lee Herrick, San Diego Poet Laureate Jason Magabo Perez, and San Diego area poets Julia Levine, winner of the 2023 Kowit Award, Ron Salisbury, Jeff Walt, Gill Sotu, and more, with an open mic reading hosted by Poets Underground, come enjoy street foods, drinks, and a mini-book fair, bringing together the diverse literary arts of San Diego, San Diego Central Library, 330 Park Boulevard, San Diego, free, 6:30-9:30 pm PDT (RSVP to attend: www.eventbrite.com/e/san-diego-poetry-celebration-and-kowit-awards-tickets-551667621707)
